L. David Patterson was born and raised in Southern California. A graduate of El Camino Community College, David went on to obtain his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Southern California (USC), majoring in Entrepreneurial Studies, his Masters of Science degree in Industrial & Organizational Science, and he is currently completing his PhD in Business Psychology.
David has over 20 years experience as a financial advisor and business consultant. He currently holds his 4 insurance licences (Life, Health, Property & Casualty), 5 investment licenses (Series 7, 6, 66, 63, 26), and a Real Estate Broker's licence. Over the years he has helped hundreds of families plan and prepare for their financial future, as well as helped dozens of small businesses and entrepreneurs reach professional and organizational goals.
After college, David choose Hawthorne to live where he found his very first apartment. Committed to serving his community, David has volunteered for many community organizations and non profits in the city, including the Hawthorne Teen Center, Richstone Family Center, and Chamber of Commerce. In 2013, David began his commitment to public service being elected as Hawthorne's City Treasurer.
